Track: 아직 사랑한다 / Still In Love (Korean Ver.)
Album: EAR FUN
Language: Korean
Genre: Pop-Rock K-Rock Ballad
Year: 2012
Love the whole album tbh, this song has a lovely passionate ballad feeling for me. Ive just downloaded everything I can find of theirs since I realised half their korean singles are remakes of their japanese stuff (kinda random for a korean band lol) Anyway Im a huge fan of these guys <3 One day I hope to see them live <3

Artist: Cheb Mami
Track: Ma Vie 2 Fois (My Life Twice)
Album: Dellali
Language: Algerian French Arabic
Genre: Raï Folk
Year: 2001
I got into rai through another genre, Rai’n’B (a fusion of rai, r&b & hiphop in french, african, arabic, spanish etc). When I listened to the more purer form of Rai by Cheb Khaled it wasnt really to my taste tbh ash his voice is quite gutteral.
But I listened to alot of Cheb mami’s rai’n’b collabs which I loved. So recently I searched for his other songs. I really liked with ‘Viens Habibi (Come my Love)’ which had a fun uplifting feel. So I decided to get the full album, and fell in love with this track. This has a much more melancholy feel and it reminds me a little of the old hindi songs with a more latin twist. If that makes sense!
I love how Algerian seems to be a mix or arabic and french..
Artist: GD&TOP
Track: Intro - Ready Or Not (Feat. Fugees)
Album: YG In Da Mix Part 5 (2NE1 & Big Bang)
Language: Korean English
Genre: Hip-Hop Rap Remix Mashup
Year: 2012
This mashup sounds like it was meant to be. The background humming along with Fugees fits really well with GD/Top’s rapping.

Artist: Adele vs. Daft Punk
Track: Something About The Fire (Carlos Serrano Mix)
Language: English
Genre: Soul Pop Electronic
Year: 2012
An amazing mashup of Adele’s ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ and Daft Punk’s ‘Something About Us’. I admit I was getting tired of Adele’s song after a while (shock horror) because Im usually into more upbeat songs and though beautiful this was a little bit of a downer. However this mix really puts in a fresh flavour and funks up the tone of the whole song.

Track: Sukiyaki - を向いて歩こう (Ue o Muite Aruko - I Shall Walk Looking Up)
Language: Japanese
Genre: Pop Folk 60s Jazz International World

This reminds of the lovely songs played on Studio Ghibli & other anime movies in the credits or intro. I feel like I should be walking in a farm with the sun on my face when I hear this..

I look up as I walk
So that the tears won’t fall
Remembering those those spring days
But I am all alone tonight
I look up as I walk
Counting the stars with tearful eyes
Remembering those summer days
But I am all alone tonight
Happiness lies beyond the clouds
Happiness lies up above the sky
I look up as I walk
So that the tears won’t fall
Though the tears well up as I walk
For tonight I’m all alone tonight
(whistling)
Remembering those autumn days
But I am all alone tonight
Sadness lies in the shadow of the stars
Sadness lurks in the shadow of the moon
I look up as I walk
So that the tears won’t fall
Though the tears well up as I walk
For tonight I’m all alone

I’ve heard this band a few times and always liked their electronic stuff, it reminded me of some cool British / American indie bands. Sometimes there’s too many good bands to follow up so nows the time for me to follow up this one!
Their electronic upbeat sound is very catchy and when the first vocal hits, I know I have to move. You can’t not dance at least a little!. I also love their song Oriental Girl ↳. If you likeTwo Door Cinema Club, you might be a fan..
Side Note: You know what I wish? That last.fm paired bands with similar styles of music up regardless of location.

Im getting pretty addicted to this, even admittedly more than Blue. Taeyang’s voice starts this off really well, and the vibe really lifts my mood up. I used to listen to Blue on the way to work and it was really calming, while this one makes me walk faster and puts a smile to my face. Im not a huge fan of the ‘sarand mongji’ part of chorus, but its catchy enough not to spoil the song for me. Overall Taeyag owns this song :)
